GCT CASTING PHILOSOPHY: We seek to honor the intentions of the playwright as provided in the script. If the playwright only offers general character traits or does not list anything at all for a specific role, Good Company Theatre will not assume the neutrality of a certain person or type over others when casting. We welcome all to audition, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, ability, or any other physical attribute.

To Saints and Stars is  about the intersection between science and faith. It follows the lifelong friendship of Sofía, a NASA astronaut, and Zoe, the wife of a Greek Orthodox priest. Sofia and Zoe have been friends since they were children and not a day has passed where they haven't seen or spoken to each other. Their lives and friendship are changed forever when Zoe becomes pregnant with her first child and Sofía is chosen for the first manned Mission to Mars. As the day of Sofia’s departure to Mars and Zoe’s due date approaches, their relationship becomes more strained as each woman is forced to re-evaluate what they each have prioritized in their own life and the indelible impact that they have made on each other.

  • Sofía: 30's, half Latina, Chicana, Chicano, Latinx, Latina, Female training to be an astronaut on the first manned mission to Mars. Can be played by: Age: early to late 30s Race/Ethnicity: Latinx/o/a or Hispanic. Gender: Female.

  • Zoe: 30's, Greek-American Female. The wife of a Greek Orthodox Priest, pregnant with her first child. Can be played by: Age: early to late 30s. Race/Ethnicity: White. Gender: Female.

  • Ken : 30's, African American, Black, Male Training to be an astronaut on the first manned mission to Mars. Can be played by: Age: late 20-30s. Race/Ethnicity: Black, African, Caribbean, or African American. Gender: Male.

  • John: 30's, half Latino, Chicano, Latinx, Latino, Male. A Latino priest in a Greek Orthodox Church, Zoe's husband. Can be played by: Age: 30s, 40s Race/Ethnicity: Latinx/o/a or Hispanic Gender: Male.

Auditions: Self tapes due by Friday, August 12 by 12:00 pm MST

Callbacks: In-person at GCT, Sunday, August 21 from 2:00-5:00 pm

Good Company Theatre is committed to our COVID safety plan, which includes;
-All performers, designers, and technicians to be fully vaccinated (3 shots) 14 days prior to the first rehearsal
-Masks will be worn by cast & crew during rehearsals
-Actors will be unmasked beginning dress rehearsals
-Actors will be administered COVID-19 rapid tests weekly beginning dress rehearsals
-Production team and crew will remain masked during tech and dress rehearsals
-Actors will be unmasked for performances
-Increased sanitation at our rehearsal studio, dressing rooms, and theatre
-Audiences are required to wear masks while inside the facility
